4 cups Rice Chex cereal
2 cups mini pretzels
2 cups red, white, and blue M&Ms (or any candy of your choice)
12 oz white chocolate chips
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Optional:
1/2 cup mini marshmallows
Sprinkles for a festive touch
Instructions
Prepare the Mixing Bowl
Use a large mixing bowl that can comfortably hold all your ingredients. You’ll want enough room to easily toss the snack mix without making a mess.Combine the Cereal and Pretzels
Add 4 cups of Rice Chex cereal and 2 cups of mini pretzels into the bowl. Gently mix them together using a spoon or spatula. This will be the base of your snack mix.Melt the White Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, add 12 oz of white chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Microwave the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is smooth and completely melted. This should take 1-2 minutes in total, depending on your microwave.Coat the Cereal and Pretzels
Pour the melted white chocolate over the Rice Chex and pretzel mixture. Stir gently to ensure that the cereal and pretzels are evenly coated with the white chocolate. Be careful not to crush the cereal as you stir.Add the Candy and Marshmallows
Once the cereal and pretzels are coated in chocolate, add 2 cups of red, white, and blue M&Ms (or any candy of your choice) and 1/2 cup of mini marshmallows (if using). Stir carefully to incorporate the candy without breaking up the cereal.Let the Mix Set
Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Spread the chocolate-coated cereal and pretzel mixture onto the sheet. If desired, sprinkle colorful sprinkles on top for an extra festive touch. Allow the mix to sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes, or until the white chocolate hardens completely.Break Into Pieces
Once the white chocolate has set, break the mixture into bite-sized pieces. Now, your 4th of July Snack Mix is ready to serve!
