Enjoy the perfect snack with these Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks that are crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside.
Ingredients
12 mozzarella sticks (string cheese or cut from a block)
2 eggs
beaten
1/2 cup flour (or gluten-free all-purpose)
1 cup breadcrumbs (panko gets you peak crunch)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan (flavor booster)
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional but highly recommended)
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil spray (for that golden finish)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
- Set up a breading station: Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a third bowl.
- Dip each mozzarella stick first in the flour, shaking off any excess, then in the egg, and finally coat thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray and arrange the breaded mozzarella sticks in a single layer. Spray the tops lightly with olive oil.
- Cook in the air fryer for about 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For an extra crispy texture, make sure to not overcrowd the air fryer basket. If desired, add additional toppings to the breadcrumb mixture for more flavor.
