Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture into the prepared baking dish, and if desired, sprinkle the ground nutmeg on top.
- Place the baking dish in a larger pan filled with hot water to create a water bath, which will help cook the custard evenly.
- Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the custard is set and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
