Salt (for seasoning pasta water)

8 oz cream cheese

softened

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for creaminess)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for a little heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage (optional but highly recommended)

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce or your favorite spaghetti sauce

1 tablespoon olive oil (for browning meat)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)

Fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  • In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat. Brown the ground beef or sausage with 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, salt, and pepper. Once browned, add the marinara sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large baking dish, mix the spaghetti with the creamy sauce until well combined, then layer the meat sauce over the spaghetti.
  • Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, skip the meat sauce and use extra vegetables instead.
