1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
2 teaspoons kosher salt

2 cloves garlic
minced
1 medium yellow onion
finely diced
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 ½ pounds Yukon gold potatoes
cut into ½-inch cubes
1 cup water
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
4 tablespoons ketchup
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
shredded
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of salt, garlic, onion, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Cook until onions are translucent, about 4 minutes.
- Add the potatoes to the skillet and stir to combine. Pour in the water, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup. Bring to a simmer.
- Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Cover for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts. Serve warm.
Notes
Use Yukon gold or Russet potatoes for best results. Adjust seasoning according to taste preference.
