Ingredients
Scale
6 medium apples (preferably tart varieties like Granny Smith)
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup (Can be substituted with agave syrup)

Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples thoroughly, removing any wax coating.
- Insert wooden sticks or skewers into the top of each apple.
- In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, water, and vanilla extract. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

- If desired, add food coloring and mix well.
- Dip each apple in the hot syrup, allowing excess to drip off, then place on a greased baking sheet.
- While still warm, sprinkle with chopped nuts or sprinkles if desired.
