Description

Ingredients

1 1/3 cups water at room temperature

2 teaspoons dry active yeast

1 1/2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

3 1/2 cups unbleached all purpose flour

1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt

1 cup Kerrygold Cheddar Shreds

1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs

1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic

2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons fresh rosemary

1 teaspoon flakey sea salt


Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
  • Add olive oil, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 1-inch thick.
  • Sprinkle the cheese, Italian herbs, and garlic on half of the dough, then fold it over to encase the filling.
  • Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let it rise for another 20 minutes.
  • Drizzle olive oil on top, sprinkle with rosemary and flaky sea salt.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a more intense flavor, try adding fresh minced garlic to the filling.
