4 ounces dark chocolate

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven and prepare cake pans with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, 3 eggs, water, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  • Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake according to package directions.
  • For the filling, whisk together cornstarch, sugar, and milk in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened.
  • Remove from heat and stir in butter, vanilla, and salt, then let cool.
  • Once the cakes are cooled, cut them in half horizontally and fill with the vanilla custard.
  • For the ganache, melt dark chocolate and butter together, then stir in cream until smooth.
