2 sheets puff pastry thawed

6 cups thinly sliced Granny Smith apples

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar packed

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

3 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons unsalted butter diced

1 cup powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons milk


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Mix well until the apples are coated.
  • Lay one sheet of puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Spread the apple mixture evenly over the puff pastry.
  • Dot the apple filling with diced unsalted butter.
  • Place the second sheet of puff pastry on top and seal the edges by pressing them together.
  • Cut a few slits in the top pastry to allow steam to escape.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
  • While baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk in a small bowl until smooth.
  • Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle the glaze over the warm apple slices before serving.
