Ingredients

Scale

1 cup almond flour

1 3/4 cups powdered sugar

3 large egg whites

1/4 cup granulated sugar

Food coloring (yellow for chick color)

Buttercream or chocolate ganache for filling

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy, then gradually add the granulated sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
  • Add the vanilla extract and food coloring, and mix gently to combine.
  • Fold the dry ingredients into the egg white mixture until just combined.
  • Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • Let the macarons sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to form a skin.

  • Cool completely before sandwiching with buttercream or chocolate ganache.

Notes

For best results, ensure your egg whites are at room temperature and avoid any moisture in the ingredients.
