Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy, then gradually add the granulated sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
- Add the vanilla extract and food coloring, and mix gently to combine.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the egg white mixture until just combined.
- Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Let the macarons sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to form a skin.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the macarons have risen and developed feet.
- Cool completely before sandwiching with buttercream or chocolate ganache.
