Ingredients

3 Tbsp. hoisin sauce

2 Tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce

2 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar

1 Tbsp. Sriracha (optional)

1 tsp. sesame oil

1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil

1 medium onion

diced

2 cloves garlic

minced

1 Tbsp. freshly grated ginger

1 lb. ground chicken

1/2 cup canned water chestnuts

drained and sliced

2 green onions

thinly sliced

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

Large leafy lettuce (leaves separated)

for serving

Cooked white rice

for serving (optional)


Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, Sriracha, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  • Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in the ground chicken and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks.
  • Add the water chestnuts and the sauce mixture to the skillet. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until everything is heated through and well combined.
  • Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Remove from heat and stir in sliced green onions.
  • Serve the chicken mixture in large lettuce leaves. Optionally, serve with cooked white rice on the side.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less Sriracha according to your preference. Use iceberg or butter lettuce for the best wrap experience.
