Description
This Chicken Shawarma with Garlic Sauce is a flavorful Middle Eastern dish featuring tender marinated chicken, complemented by a creamy garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Boneless chicken thighs
ground cumin
paprika
turmeric
fresh garlic
lemon juice
ground coriander
ground cinnamon
mayonnaise
olive oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the boneless chicken thighs with ground cumin, paprika, turmeric, minced fresh garlic, lemon juice, ground coriander, ground cinnamon, olive oil, and salt to create the marinade. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the marinated chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and caramelized.
- While the chicken cooks, make the garlic sauce by mixing mayonnaise with minced fresh garlic, a bit of lemon juice, and salt to taste.
- Once the chicken is done, let it rest for a few minutes, then slice it and serve with the garlic sauce on the side.
Notes
For a lighter sauce, substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt. Make sure to use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor.
