Description
Classic Chicken Cordon Bleu is a delightful dish featuring tender chicken breasts filled with savory ham and rich Swiss cheese, all enveloped in a crispy coating.
Ingredients
Scale
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon paprika
6 skinless boneless chicken breast halves
6 slices Swiss cheese
6 slices ham
6 tablespoons butter
½ cup dry white wine
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a shallow dish, combine flour and paprika. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture and set aside.
- Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast. Roll them up tightly and secure with toothpicks.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chicken rolls and cook until golden brown on all sides.
- Transfer the chicken to a baking dish. Deglaze the skillet with white wine, scraping up any browned bits. Stir in chicken bouillon and pour over the chicken.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix cream and cornstarch. Add to the skillet over medium heat and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
- Serve the chicken drizzled with the cream sauce.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding herbs such as thyme or parsley to the cream sauce. Ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
