Ingredients
2 cups cooked shredded chicken
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup cream cheese
softened
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste
10 small flour tortillas
Vegetable oil for frying
Optional toppings: salsa
guacamole
sour cream
chopped cilantro
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Take a tortilla, add a portion of the chicken mixture to one side, and roll tightly. Repeat with all tortillas.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Carefully place the taquitos seam-side down into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with optional toppings like salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and chopped cilantro.
Notes
For extra crunch, ensure the oil is hot before frying the taquitos. You can also bake them at 400°F for 20-25 minutes if preferred.
