This viral TikTok Dumpling Lasagna combines the heartiness of lasagna with the delightful texture of dumplings, making it a perfect fusion meal that is sure to impress!
Ingredients
500 g ground chicken mince
5 spring onions finely sliced
100 g shiitake mushrooms finely chopped
2 garlic cloves minced
1 inch ginger minced
2 tablespoon light soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon MSG optional
27 dumpling wrappers
75 ml water
1 tablespoon tahini or peanut butter
½ teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
½ lime juiced
½ tablespoon sesame oil
1 garlic clove minced
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, spring onions, shiitake mushrooms, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, and MSG (if using). Mix well to create the meat filling.
- Place a dumpling wrapper on a clean surface and spoon about 1 tablespoon of the meat filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water and fold to seal tightly. Repeat this process with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a baking dish, layer the dumplings in a single layer, brushing each layer with a little sesame oil to prevent sticking.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the dumplings are cooked through.
- While the dumplings are baking, mix the tahini (or peanut butter), sugar, soy sauce, lime juice, sesame oil, and minced garlic in a small bowl to create the sauce.
- Once the dumpling lasagna is ready, drizzle with the sauce and serve hot.
Notes
Feel free to substitute ground chicken with ground pork or turkey. You can also use store-bought dumpling wrappers for ease. Adjust the sauce ingredients to your taste preference.
