These Easy Baked Ground Turkey Tacos with Avocado Sauce are a simple and delicious weeknight meal. Packed with flavor and topped with a creamy avocado sauce, they’re sure to become a family favorite.
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground turkey
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion
finely chopped
2 cloves garlic
minced
1 packet taco seasoning
1/2 cup tomato sauce
8 small taco shells
1 avocado
peeled and pitted
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1/4 cup fresh cilantro
chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it apart, and cook until browned.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and tomato sauce, mixing well. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Spoon the turkey mixture into the taco shells and place them in a baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the taco shells are crispy.
- While the tacos bake, prepare the avocado sauce by blending the avocado, Greek yogurt, cilantro, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Once the tacos are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle with the avocado sauce before serving.
Notes
You can substitute ground chicken or beef for the turkey, and feel free to use tortillas instead of taco shells for different textures.
