This Easy Foolproof Banana Bread is the best way to use ripe bananas. Moist, flavorful, and quick to prepare, it’s perfect for breakfast or as a snack.
Ingredients
3 ripe medium bananas
mashed
1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter
melted
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
1/4 cup (50g) packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon (if using), and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Make sure the bananas are very ripe for the best flavor. You can store leftovers wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days.
