1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup mascarpone cheese
1 cup heavy whipping cream
24 ladyfinger cookies

Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and thick.
- Add the mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth and well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.
- In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using).
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and arrange them in a single layer in a serving dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers.
- Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings, if desired.
Notes
For a richer flavor, let the tiramisu sit overnight in the refrigerator. Adjust the sweetness to your preference.
