2 medium apples

1/4 cup brewed espresso

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 egg

beaten (for egg wash)

1/4 cup caramel sauce

for drizzling

2 tablespoons pearl sugar or crushed nuts (optional)


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut them into squares.
  • Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  • Top the cream cheese with thin apple slices.
  • In a small bowl, mix the brewed espresso, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon, then drizzle a little over the apples.
