2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup crumbled feta cheese
1/4 cup honey
1–2 tablespoons chili flakes (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
3/4 cup warm water (approximately 110°F or 43°C)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast, letting it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and chili flakes.
- Add the yeast mixture, olive oil, honey, and crumbled feta cheese to the flour mixture.
- Mix until the dough comes together, then knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle, then cut it into strips and roll each strip into a spiral.
- Place the spirals on the prepared baking sheet and let them rise for an additional 20 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and deliciously fragrant.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with additional honey if desired.
