Description
Delicious and crispy Flavorful Chickpea Fritters, perfect for a snack or appetizer, served with a delightful tahini sauce.
Ingredients
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp canola oil (or any other neutral oil like grapeseed)
1 tsp ground cumin (for best flavor and aroma)
1/4 cup all-purpose flour (I use King Arthur all-purpose flour)
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp water
tahini sauce for serving
1 tbsp chopped parsley
1 can chickpeas (15 oz
rinsed and thoroughly drained)
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, salt, ground cumin, black pepper, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and water. Blend until smooth.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the all-purpose flour. Mix until just combined.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of the mixture and shape them into fritters, placing them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Drizzle canola oil over the fritters to ensure they bake up crispy, then pop them into the oven.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving with tahini sauce and a sprinkle of chopped parsley.
Notes
These fritters can be served warm or at room temperature. Adjust spices according to your preference for a spicier kick.
