Description
These French Dip Sliders are a delightful twist on the classic sandwich, featuring tender, savory beef served on soft slider buns with melted cheese and a rich dipping sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
1.5 pounds beef roast (such as chuck roast or sirloin)
1 onion
thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic
minced
1 cup beef broth
1 cup water
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt and pepper
to taste
12 slider buns (or mini brioche buns)
6 slices provolone cheese (or Swiss cheese)
Butter (for toasting buns)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Season the beef roast with salt, pepper, and thyme. In a large skillet, heat a little oil over medium-high heat and sear the beef on all sides until browned.
- Remove the beef from the skillet and add the sliced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Return the beef to the skillet, add beef broth, water, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.
- Cover and transfer the skillet to the oven. Cook for 2.5 to 3 hours until the meat is very tender and easily shredded.
- Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks, and return it to the juices.
- Lightly butter the slider buns and toast them in a skillet or oven until golden brown.
- Assemble the sliders with shredded beef and a slice of cheese on each bun, then serve with a side of the beef broth for dipping.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding some sautéed mushrooms to the sliders or using a mix of cheeses.
