Ingredients
1 pound fresh bay or sea scallops
dry packed
salt and fresh ground pepper

1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
divided
4 to 5 garlic cloves
minced
1/3 cup dry white wine
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
lemon slices

Instructions
- Pat the scallops dry with paper towels and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
- Add the scallops to the skillet, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the scallops and set them aside on a plate.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the white wine (or broth) and lemon juice, bringing the mixture to a simmer to reduce by half.
- Return the scallops to the skillet, coating them in the garlic butter sauce.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon slices before serving.
