-
1 ½ cups (300 g) granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
2 tablespoons milk
-
¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar, for rolling
Optional:
-
½ teaspoon almond extract
-
Colored sugar or sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
-
Beat in egg, vanilla, and milk until well combined.
-
Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing until just incorporated.
-
Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Coat in granulated sugar and place 2 inches apart on baking sheet.

Bake 8–10 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
-
Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
Notes
-
Chill dough for 30 minutes if too soft to handle.
-
For holiday flair, roll cookies in colored sugar or add sprinkles before baking.
-
Avoid overbaking for a soft, chewy texture.
-
Cookies taste best when slightly underdone at the center.
