Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients.
- Spread the softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer the cheese and any optional additions such as mayonnaise or mustard.
- Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in the pan.
