1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk or milk alternative
Optional toppings: heart-shaped sprinkles

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a heart-shaped baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared heart-shaped pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center.
- Allow to cool before removing from the pan. Serve as is or decorate with heart-shaped sprinkles, whipped cream, or fresh berries.
Notes
For extra richness, try adding chocolate chips to the batter or serve with a scoop of ice cream.
