These homemade biscuits are incredibly flaky and delicious, perfect for breakfast or as a side with dinner.
Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour (250g)
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
6 Tablespoons unsalted butter very cold (85g)
¾ cup whole milk¹ (177ml)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together.
- Roll or pat the dough to about 1-inch thick, then cut out biscuits using a round cutter.
- Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with butter or your favorite jam.
Notes
For extra flaky biscuits, ensure the butter is extremely cold and avoid overworking the dough.
