Ingredients

Whole Milk

Powdered Sugar

Vanilla Extract

Additional Milk

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into squares.
  • Place a spoonful of cherry pie filling in the center of each square.
  • Fold the pastry over to create a triangle and press the edges to seal, using the egg wash for extra stickiness.
  • Brush the tops with the egg wash mixture and make small slits on top for steam to escape.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While baking, mix the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and additional milk to create a glaze. Adjust the milk for desired thickness.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm turnovers once they come out of the oven.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle some grated lemon zest in the glaze for added flavor. Serve warm for the best taste experience.
