Description
Delicious homemade cinnamon rolls that are fluffy, gooey, and topped with a sweet cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients
Scale
2% milk
instant yeast
large eggs
½ cup butter
granulated sugar
brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
bread flour
Saigon cinnamon
heavy cream
full fat cream cheese
powdered sugar
maple extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, warm the milk and dissolve the instant yeast in it.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the milk-yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs.
- Mix until a dough forms and knead for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and spread melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon over it.
- Roll the dough tightly and slice into rolls, placing them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
- In the meantime, prepare the frosting by beating cream cheese, powdered sugar, and maple extract together until smooth.
- Drizzle the heavy cream on top of the hot rolls before icing them with the cream cheese frosting.
Notes
For best results, use bread flour and don’t skip the heavy cream for gooey rolls. Adjust frosting flavor with either maple or vanilla extract according to your preference.
