500g / 1 lb chicken breast
boneless and skinless (2 pieces)
Salt and pepper
1/4 cup flour
3 1/2 tbsp (50g) unsalted butter (or 2 1/2 tbsp olive oil)
2 garlic cloves
minced
1 1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or white or other clear vinegar)
1 tbsp soy sauce
light or all purpose
1/3 cup honey (or maple syrup)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Dredge the chicken breasts in flour, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter (or heat olive oil) until sizzling.
- Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and honey, mixing until well combined.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the chicken, and transfer it to the preheated oven.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving with the sauce drizzled on top.
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the honey garlic mixture for a few hours before cooking.
