Description
Hot Dog Mummies are a fun, spooky twist on traditional hot dogs. Wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough and baked until golden, they are the perfect treat for Halloween parties or any gathering that needs a playful touch. The familiar taste of hot dogs, combined with the whimsical mummy presentation, makes these a hit with both kids and adults alike.
Ingredients
8 hot dogs
1 (8-ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
1 teaspoon yellow mustard (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare crescent dough: Unroll the package of refrigerated crescent rolls and separate them into triangles.
Wrap the hot dogs: Take one hot dog and wrap a triangle of crescent dough around it, leaving the top part of the hot dog exposed (this will be the “head”).
Arrange the wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
(Optional) Brush mustard: If desired, brush a light layer of yellow mustard over the dough for extra flavor.
Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve warm: Once baked, remove the Hot Dog Mummies from the oven, and serve immediately.
Notes
For a more flavorful twist, consider adding a slice of cheese inside the crescent dough before wrapping it around the hot dog.
You can also use bratwurst or veggie sausages as an alternative to traditional hot dogs.
Hot Dog Mummies can be made ahead of time, wrapped, and stored in the fridge until ready to bake.
