1 package of frozen croissant dough (8–10 croissants)
1 cup of shredded kunafa dough
1 cup of ricotta cheese
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of milk
1/4 cup of unsalted butter
melted
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/4 cup of crushed pistachios
for garnish
Honey or syrup
for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the frozen croissant dough and cut it into 2 squares for each croissant.
- In a bowl, mix together the shredded kunafa dough, ricotta cheese, sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Grease a muffin tin and place the croissant squares into each cup, pressing the dough against the sides to form a cup.
- Fill each croissant cup with the kunafa mixture and trim any excess dough.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before drizzling with honey or syrup and garnishing with crushed pistachios.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of cardamom to the filling. Serve warm for the best texture.
