Ingredients
Beef steak
Yellow onion
Green bell pepper
Garlic cloves
Beef broth
Heavy cream
Provolone cheese
Bacon
Crusty bread
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the pot.
- Add sliced beef steak to the pot and brown it for about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the diced yellow onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic; sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream and provolone cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve the soup in bowls topped with crispy bacon and accompanied by slices of cheesy, toasted bread for dipping.
Notes
For added flavor, use a mix of provolone and mozzarella cheese. You can also top the soup with extra cheese and broil until bubbly for a fun twist.
