Description
This Philly Cheese Steak Casserole features 5 comforting layers of joy, capturing all the flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak without the bread!
Ingredients
1 pound thinly sliced beef steak (ribeye or sirloin
but flank steak also works)
2 tablespoons olive oil (for sautéing)
1 large onion
thinly sliced
1 large bell pepper
thinly sliced (green or red)
3 cloves garlic
minced
2 cups frozen hash browns (or diced cooked potatoes)
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper
to taste
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 cups shredded provolone cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and sauté the onions and bell peppers until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced beef to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Cook until the beef is browned.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Layer half of the hash browns in a greased casserole dish, followed by the beef mixture, and half of the cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining hash browns, beef mixture, and top with the remaining cheese and Parmesan cheese.
- Pour the cream mixture over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

For extra flavor, feel free to add your favorite spices or additional vegetables.
