  • 1 large pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1 cup pizza sauce

  • 8 slices mozzarella cheese, halved

  • 4 slices provolone cheese

  • Optional toppings: pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, cooked sausage, etc.


Instructions

  • Preheat oven according to the pizza dough instructions (usually 400°F / 200°C).

  • Prepare crust: Roll out the pizza dough large enough to line a pie dish, with some overhang. Press it gently into the dish.

  • Layer ingredients: Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Layer with half of the mozzarella slices, then all of the provolone. Add your desired toppings. Finish with the remaining mozzarella slices.

  • Seal it: Fold overhanging dough over the top or cover with an additional dough layer. Crimp the edges to seal. Cut small slits in the top to vent.

  • Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.

  • Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For added crispiness, brush the crust with an egg wash before baking.
