Description
Pizza Pot Pie brings together two beloved comfort foods—pizza and pot pie—into one irresistible, cheesy, golden-crusted creation. This dish features layers of gooey mozzarella, zesty sauce, and your favorite pizza toppings, all wrapped in a flaky pie crust. It’s perfect for family dinners, game nights, or when you’re craving a hearty and customizable twist on tradition.
Ingredients
1 large pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1 cup pizza sauce
8 slices mozzarella cheese, halved
4 slices provolone cheese
Optional toppings: pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, cooked sausage, etc.
Instructions
Preheat oven according to the pizza dough instructions (usually 400°F / 200°C).
Prepare crust: Roll out the pizza dough large enough to line a pie dish, with some overhang. Press it gently into the dish.
Layer ingredients: Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Layer with half of the mozzarella slices, then all of the provolone. Add your desired toppings. Finish with the remaining mozzarella slices.
Seal it: Fold overhanging dough over the top or cover with an additional dough layer. Crimp the edges to seal. Cut small slits in the top to vent.
Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
For added crispiness, brush the crust with an egg wash before baking.
This recipe is very flexible—try BBQ chicken, veggie lovers, or meat lovers’ versions!
Let the pie rest for 5–10 minutes after baking for easier slicing.
Can be made in individual ramekins for personal-sized servings.
