Description

These delicious, soft Pretzel Bites are perfect for snacking or serving at parties. Lightly salted and served with your favorite dipping sauce, they are sure to be a hit!


Ingredients

4 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon sugar

2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 ¾ cups warm milk

2 tablespoons melted butter

9 cups water

½ cup baking soda

1 large egg mixed with 1 tablespoon of water


Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  • Gradually mix in warm milk and melted butter until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth, then let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil.
  • Divide the dough into small pieces and roll them into bite-sized balls.
  • Carefully drop the dough balls into the boiling water for about 30 seconds, then remove them and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush the tops with the egg wash and sprinkle with salt.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Make sure the water is not too hot to avoid killing the yeast. Serve warm for the best texture.
