Description

This Pull Apart Garlic Bread is a delightful and flavorful twist on traditional garlic bread. Soft, buttery, and infused with garlic, this pull-apart version is perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

1/2 cup warm water

1 tablespoon white sugar

1 teaspoon active dry yeast

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 cups bread flour

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

melted

1 pinch salt

some fresh parsley leaves

finely chopped

3 cloves garlic

finely minced

1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water, white sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large bowl, mix the softened butter, milk, and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture and stir to combine.
  • Gradually add bread flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl and cover with a cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into small balls about the size of a golf ball.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic, chopped parsley, and pinch of salt. Dip each dough ball into the garlic butter mixture and then layer them in a greased baking dish.
  • If using, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top. Cover the dish with a cloth and let it rise for another 20 minutes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm, pulling apart pieces to enjoy.

Notes

For extra flavor, feel free to experiment with different herbs like oregano or thyme in the garlic butter mixture. Ensure to let the dough rise properly for a fluffy texture.
