Ingredients

1 cup sourdough discard
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup shredded cheese
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
dried herbs (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the sourdough discard, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until just combined.
- Stir in the olive oil, cheese, garlic powder, and dried herbs (if using) until well incorporated.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick, then cut into strips or desired shapes.
- Place the breadsticks on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, and enjoy your cheesy breadsticks!
Notes
You can customize these breadsticks by adding your favorite herbs or spices. For a spicy kick, incorporate red pepper flakes.
