Ingredients
1 head cauliflower
1½ cups soy milk or any milk of your choosing
½ cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder
black pepper or to taste
1 scallion for garnish
1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
½ cup water
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tablespoon ginger minced
1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with ¼ cup water to make a slurry
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the soy milk, flour, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper to create a batter.
- Dip each cauliflower floret in the batter, ensuring it’s well coated.
- Place the battered cauliflower in the air fryer basket in a single layer, cooking in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
- While the cauliflower is cooking, prepare the teriyaki sauce. In a saucepan, combine water, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a boil.
- Mix the cornstarch slurry into the sauce and stir until it thickens.
- Once the cauliflower wings are crispy and golden, toss them in the teriyaki sauce.
- Serve immediately, garnished with scallions and sesame seeds.
