- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons apple juice

Instructions
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon, stirring to coat the apples.
- Cook for about 5-7 minutes, until the apples begin to soften.
- Stir in 3 tablespoons of apple juice or water, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch or flour with 1 tablespoon of apple juice or water to create a slurry.
- Add the slurry to the apple mixture, stirring until the filling thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool before using in your favorite pie recipe.
