Description

Delight in the irresistible flavors of this Apple Pie with Puff Pastry, featuring tender, spiced apples enveloped in a flaky crust that will make your taste buds sing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 medium apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons coarse sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples, then toss them with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook the apple mixture until just softened, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to fit your pie dish.
  5. Transfer the rolled pastry to the pie dish, fill it with the apple mixture, and cover with another layer of pastry. Seal the edges and make slits for steam.
  6. Beat the egg and brush it over the top crust, then sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. This pie pairs wonderfully with ice cream or whipped cream on top.
