- 3 medium apples
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons coarse sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Peel, core, and slice the apples, then toss them with cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat and cook the apple mixture until just softened, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to fit your pie dish.
- Transfer the rolled pastry to the pie dish, fill it with the apple mixture, and cover with another layer of pastry. Seal the edges and make slits for steam.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the top crust, then sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
