Description

Bang Bang Chicken is a deliciously spicy and crispy chicken dish coated in a creamy, sweet, and tangy Bang Bang Sauce. Perfect as an appetizer or main course!

  • ½ cup (132 g) Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken tenderloins
  • 1 cup (245 g) buttermilk
  • ¾ cup (94 g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (64 g) cornstarch
  • 1 large egg
  • room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 2 cups (216 g) panko breadcrumbs
  • plain
  • canola oil
  • for frying
  • parsley
  • chopped
  • for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey to make the Bang Bang Sauce. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, marinate the chicken tenderloins in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, egg, additional Sriracha, garlic powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until smooth.
  4. Coat marinated chicken in the flour mixture, then dip into panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  5. Heat canola oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the chicken nuggets until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  6. Drain fried chicken on paper towels and toss in the Bang Bang Sauce until evenly coated.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crunch, double coat the chicken in the flour mixture and panko breadcrumbs, and make sure the oil is hot enough before frying.
