Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tray with liners.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the wet mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners, filling them about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let them cool.
- For frosting, beat together powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes and top with crushed Nilla Wafers and mini party umbrellas for fun decoration.
