Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cupcakes to cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and milk until you reach your desired frosting consistency. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Divide the frosting into three bowls and tint each with blue, yellow, and green food coloring.
- Frost your cooled cupcakes with the colored frosting to create a beach scene, using edible sand and decorations like mini umbrellas and candy shells to complete the look.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the food coloring amounts to achieve your desired shades. The edible sand can also be made with crushed Nilla wafers for a different flavor.
