Description
This Berry Trifle Recipe is the ultimate no-bake summer dessert, combining light angel food cake, creamy filling, and a medley of fresh berries for a refreshing treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 store-bought angel food cake (10–12 oz)
- 8 oz cream cheese
- softened
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- zest of 2 lemons
- 2 cups fresh strawberries
- hulled and sliced
- 1½ cups fresh blueberries
- 1½ cups fresh raspberries
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Prepare the cake base by cutting the angel food cake into small cubes and layer them at the bottom of a trifle dish.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest, mixing until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold it into the cream cheese mixture until smooth and fluffy.
- In another bowl, combine the fresh berries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to macerate.
- Layer the cream filling over the cake cubes, followed by a layer of the macerated berries. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a cream layer on top.
- Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.
