2 3/4 cups milk
4 large egg yolks

2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the pre-made pie crust as per package instructions.
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
- In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks and temper them by gradually adding a small amount of the hot mixture.
- Return the egg mixture to the saucepan and cook for 2 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract.
- Pour the butterscotch filling into the baked pie crust and let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating for at least 3 hours.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form, then spread over the cooled pie before serving.
