Ingredients

- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 ¼ cups margarine
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ¼ cup white sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another large bowl, cream together the margarine and 2 cups of white sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets and flatten them slightly.
- Sprinkle with the remaining ¼ cup of white sugar.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven until lightly golden.
- Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
