Description

A quick and flavorful Chicken and Cabbage Stir Fry that combines tender chicken with crunchy cabbage and aromatic garlic, perfect for a weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 250 gram Chicken breast boneless skinless chicken breast or thigh
  • 300 gram Cabbage
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 23 tbsp Cooking oil Neutral oil
  • 23 Spring onion Green onions/Scallion
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch ( Mix it with 2 tbsp water to make cornstarch slurry )
  • 2 tsp Soy sauce for marinade
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch for marinade
  • 2 tsp Sesame oil for marinade
  • ¼ tsp Baking soda for marinade
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce for seasoning
  • 1 tsp Dark soy sauce for color
  • 1 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp Shao Xing cooking wine optional

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken breast with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and baking soda. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of neutral cooking oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add another tablespoon of cooking oil and the minced garlic. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the chopped cabbage and sauté until it begins to wilt, approximately 3-5 minutes.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the pan, and add the spring onions, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, and Shao Xing cooking wine. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  6. Pour in the cornstarch slurry and mix until the sauce thickens slightly. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles and enjoy your delicious Chicken and Cabbage Stir Fry!

Notes

You can adjust the amount of cabbage or add other vegetables according to your preference. The dish can be served over rice or noodles for a complete meal.
