Ingredients

½ cup plain breadcrumbs

1 tsp Italian seasoning

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

¾ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

3 Tbsp Parmesan cheese

1 lb. ground chicken

1 large egg

½ tsp Worcestershire sauce

2 Tbsp cooking oil

2 Tbsp butter

1 garlic clove

2 Tbsp all-purpose flour

1½ cups chicken broth

½ cup half and half

¼ tsp dried oregano

¼ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

2 Tbsp Parmesan cheese

2 Tbsp lemon juice


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
  • Add the ground chicken, egg, and Worcestershire sauce to the bowl and mix until everything is well combined.
  • Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Drizzle the cooking oil over the meatballs and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • While the meatballs are baking, prepare the cream sauce. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute before slowly adding the chicken broth, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Stir in the half and half, oregano, salt, black pepper, and additional Parmesan cheese. Cook until the sauce thickens.
  • If desired, stir in lemon juice for extra brightness.
  • Serve the baked meatballs smothered in the creamy sauce.
