  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine the chopped apple, light brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Fold this apple mixture into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon for the topping, then sprinkle it evenly over the batter.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. For the glaze, mix the confectioners’ sugar, cinnamon, and water until smooth, and drizzle over the cooled bread before slicing.
